I want to begin this blog post with a moment of silence for Breonna Taylor.
This is my first official home blog post - a look inside - and my heart is forever broken that yours was broken into and your life taken away at the hands of the police.

As a nation we are at a stand still, as the black community we are outraged and hurt, I don’t know how we are going to come out of this but what I do know is that all things can be done through Christ who strengthens us. I promise to always lend a open heart and create a safe space for my black people and educate my white friends.
With this said I invite you inside my home for my living room reveal where I’ve spent all my time during this Black History movement and Covid-19. Welcome, it’s safe here.
The Couch
It’s taken me awhile to finish my apartment, mainly because if you’ve been following me you know that I was/am on a saving money kick and I just didn’t feel like buying furniture (if we are being honest). Late is never than better so here we are, I got fed up and decided to purchase my first ever couch. This one is from Article, and although not my first choice (if you know you know) it fits the very niajah (again if you know you know) vibe. While we are here, shout out to everyone that helped me come to this decision and listened to my endless couch rants.
You’ll soon find out in all the links below that 95% of this living space is from target, so here’s a closer look at the pillows. I knew from the start that I wanted texture and dimension into the space. The number one vibe I want you to take away is “cozy”.
The Floor
As soon as the couch got here, I knew I needed a rug PRONTO. I’ve successfully graduated from the fuzzy rug stage (no offense) I wanted a soft rug that was easy to clean so I began to search! Who knew rugs were so expensive, jeez thankfully I scored this rug one 5 x 7 for less than $63 (free shipping). I’ve also decorated the floor with candle lanterns and a very special pouf ottoman (gift from my grandmother).
