Road to Self-Care

Happy Sunday everyone! Moving forward I will be posting my weekly blog posts on Sundays. Today I'll be dropping some gems on the importance of Self Care and ways to practice putting yourself first! I hope you enjoy :)

What is Self Care?

Self Care is more than “treating yourself” it’s taking the time to nurture pain points that one might experience through certain phases of life. Throughout your life many Self Care actions are taken to maintain or initiate overall physical, emotional and mental well-being.

What are the benefits of Self Care?

The benefits of Self Care are truly what you make it, when caring and putting yourself first you are manipulating the way you see yourself and others. Which is a glorious thing when done right. Implementing regular practices aids in the creation of your best self which in turns creates your best life.

You also become self aware - knowing your mind, body and soul becomes second hand nature. When you know yourself inside and out other people become attracted to your good energy; + you are now in position to teach others!

How can I practice Self Care?

Self care comes in many different forms more than buying yourself a new bag, game system or ice cream (these are all good choices btw)! Here are a few others that you can start with:

Doctor Visits | Facials | Personal Finance Review | Evaluating your Emotions | Review your Recent Behavior and Attitudes | Meditation | Reading a new book | Starting a Passion Project | Watching an Old Childhood Movie | Attending a Conference | Exercising | Clean Eating | Sleeping | Drinking Water | Taking Vitamins | Asking for Help | Massages | Shopping Trips | Traveling | Visiting Extended Family | Laughing | Moving into a New Space | Indulging in your Favorite Foods | 30 min Quiet “Me” Time | Finding a New Job | Burning Sage | Praying <3

----

Now and for the duration of your lives I hope you practice some sort of Self Care. Listen to your inner self and always remember you cannot pour into any one else if your glass is empty.

Take Care,
